Another instance of Armenian separatism awaiting response from TripAdvisor and Airbnb

Airbnb and TripAdvisor continue to promote illegal businesses in Karabakh, despite pleas

The ongoing issue of Armenian separatism in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region has resurfaced on international travel platforms, sparking outrage and calls for action. Despite the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from Armenian occupation, travel websites like Airbnb and TripAdvisor continue to list properties and businesses in Karabakh as if they were still under Armenian control.

For nearly thirty years, Armenians used the occupied Azerbaijani territories for their own purposes, including tourism. They attempted to present these lands as “historical Armenian lands” on global platforms, deceiving visitors and perpetuating false narratives. However, with the recent liberation of Karabakh and East Zangezur, the true ownership of these territories has been reaffirmed.

Azerbaijan’s tourism industry has suffered significant losses due to Armenian occupation, with an estimated damage of $100 billion. Despite this, advertisements promoting tourism in Karabakh still exist on platforms like Airbnb and TripAdvisor, showcasing the deceitful tactics of Armenia. Experts and officials are calling for the removal of these ads and a crackdown on fraudulent listings to protect the integrity of Azerbaijani tourism.

The secretary general of the Azerbaijan Tourist Guides Association emphasized the need for mass complaints and IP address blocking to address the issue. Meanwhile, experts highlight the tourism potential of Karabakh and the importance of restoring the region’s reputation post-liberation.

As the international community grapples with the aftermath of the conflict, the persistence of misleading advertisements on popular travel platforms serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Azerbaijan in reclaiming its rightful territories. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
