Kerala Influencer Reshma Sebastian Clarifies Identity Mix-Up with Captain Anshuman Singh’s Wife

Fashion influencer Reshma Sebastian clarifies she is not Captain Anshuman Singh’s wife, faces vicious trolling

Reshma Sebastian, a popular fashion influencer from Kerala, found herself in the midst of a social media storm after being mistaken for Smriti Singh, the wife of Captain Anshuman Singh. Sebastian took to Instagram on Sunday to set the record straight and clarify that she is not the wife of the late Army officer who recently received the Kirti Chakra posthumously.

The confusion led to Sebastian facing vicious trolling over her fashion posts, with some internet users targeting her with hate comments. In response, Sebastian shared a screenshot of a man’s Facebook post using her photo to troll the Army officer’s wife, urging her followers to report any similar instances.

“This is absurd! Using my identity to spread false information about Smriti Singh. We are going ahead with legal actions,” Sebastian stated, emphasizing that she will not tolerate such behavior.

Currently residing in Germany with her husband and daughter, Sebastian is visiting Kerala at the moment. Meanwhile, Captain Anshuman Singh’s parents have alleged that their daughter-in-law, Smriti Singh, has left with the Kirti Chakra medal awarded to their son.

Despite the controversy, Smriti Singh shared memories of her husband earlier this year, highlighting his bravery and dedication to his duty. The Ministry of Defence also posted a video featuring Smriti Singh reminiscing about her late husband’s commitment to serving the nation.

The mix-up between Reshma Sebastian and Smriti Singh serves as a reminder of the importance of verifying information before making assumptions online. Sebastian’s experience underscores the impact of online trolling and the need to address misinformation promptly.
