Wenatchee Named Top 10 Trending Destination for 4th of July Weekend
Wenatchee, Washington, is gearing up to be a top destination for the upcoming 4th of July weekend, according to Airbnb. The popular online rental source for homestays has named Wenatchee as one of the top 10 trending destinations for the holiday weekend, along with other smaller cities like Cle Elum.
Known for its scenic landscapes and popular Independence Day celebrations, Wenatchee is set to host a spectacular fireworks display at Walla Walla Point Park. To make it easier for visitors to enjoy the festivities, Link Transit will operate a shuttle to the fireworks display from the JC Penney parking lot at the Valley North Shopping Center.
This year, Wenatchee is teaming up with Elevated Marketing for the 4th of July Celebration, which will kick off in the afternoon and feature live music and gourmet food. Local songstress Kayla Taylor will perform the national anthem, leading up to the highly anticipated fireworks show at 10:15 p.m.
Airbnb encourages families to explore the country together during the long summer holiday, with 87 percent of users citing location as the most important factor when booking a family vacation. The top 10 trending destinations for the Fourth of July weekend include Pocono Township, PA; Saratoga Springs, NY; Marshfield, MA; Leadville, CO; Bangor, ME; Lancaster, CA; Cle Elum, WA; Wenatchee, WA; Sanibel, FL; and Fort Myers Beach, FL.
In addition to highlighting trending destinations, Airbnb also listed the “most wishlisted home in every US state,” with the Treeframe Cabin treehouse in Index, Washington, taking the top spot. Situated along U.S. Hwy. 2 on the lower western side of the Cascades, this unique accommodation offers a one-of-a-kind experience for travelers looking to explore the beauty of Washington State.
